Compression load cells

Direct force measurement at the highest accuracy class, primarily for compressive forces. Many models can also measure tensile forces via an adapter.

Operating principle

Measurement principle

A compression load cell takes up a compressive force along its axis and routes it through an elastic measuring element whose deformation is picked up by four strain gauges (SG) wired as a full bridge and output as a bridge signal. The variants differ in height, force introduction and connection technology; the measurement principle is identical across all of them.

Low-profile cells suit confined installation envelopes. A load button or compact bearing keeps lateral forces away from the measuring element; a tensile adapter extends the cell to tensile forces as well.
